When I recently designed a Cabinet of Curiosities, I used the Fibonacci sequence.
At first I wanted to determine the dimensions of the design based on the Golden Section. After all, in the 16th and 17th centuries the Cabinet of Curiosities, just like the Golden Section, was very popular. The number of the Golden Section is PHI = 1.618.

Via the Golden Section, I ended up with the numeric sequence of the mathematician Fibonacci (12th century).
The sequence of Fibonacci is more specific in the use of dimensions, namely 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 ,34, 55, 89 etc., where a number is always the sum of the previous two numbers.
The interesting thing is that when you divide a number and the number before it in the Fibonacci sequence, the result is almost equal to PHI (e.g.  21:13 = 1,615).

After I had completed the design for the Cabinet of Curiosities based on Fibonacci, I wondered how to display this series of numbers in a 2 Dimensional way as an attractive graphic representation.  And not like something based on the "Nautilus shell", as has been shown hundreds of times, but really as something completely new !

After a while, the series 1 "Exploration" came into existence.  13 different prints in black & white and / or in color.
The format of the image is square, in principle 34x34 cm (= Fibonacci), but some are 33x33 cm (= is also Fibonacci, namely an addition of the numbers 1,1,2,3,5,8,13).
On request, an image size of 55 x 55 cm or a maximum of 89 x 89 cm can be printed.

I stick to the numeric sequence itself and for the sake of composition , I add rotations and / or color.
The colors that I often use are the basic colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black. I mix or dilute them digitally using the number PHI.
August / September 2020 the series "Squares and Stripes" will be released, again with 13 prints.

Zojuist werd bekend dat de kunstbeurs ART ARNHEM is uitgesteld tot 
9 en 10 januari 2021.
Heel jammer, maar begrijpelijk.
Maar mocht u voor 5 december of kerst een Gicleé print willen kopen

De actie 'We Care Art'  (een kunstwerk voor iemand in de zorg) van Online Gallery is beëindigd.  Het door PHI2ART gedoneerde werk "the Wedgwood Blues" is gewonnen door een verpleegkundige van de IC afdeling  van de NoordWest Ziekenhuisgroep.
